In coal mines, gas and coal dust are the "invisible bombs" hanging overhead at all times. During the high-pressure transportation of emulsion or hydraulic oil in hydraulic systems such as hydraulic supports, coal mining machines, and tunneling machines, static charges are continuously generated by the friction between the adhesive layer and the medium, as well as the friction between the oil layer and the steel wire layer; Once exposed to an open flame, ordinary rubber may become a "fuel" for the spread of fire. The dual risk of "static electricity accumulation+open flame ignition" is the fundamental reason why hydraulic hoses in coal mines must have both flame retardant and anti-static properties. Flame retardant and anti-static hydraulic oil pipes are specialized products for this high-risk scenario - they use flame-retardant outer rubber layers to build fire barriers, use conductive material systems to eliminate electrical spark hazards, and provide compliance guarantees with MT/T 98 and MA safety certifications, becoming an essential "safety vessel" for fire and explosion prevention in underground hydraulic systems in coal mines.

1、 Certification cornerstone: Dual threshold of MT/T 98 standard and MA safety mark
The MT/T 98-2006 "Inspection Specification for Hydraulic Support Hose and Hose Assembly" in China's coal industry lists flame retardancy and anti-static as veto items - both indicators must be qualified at the same time before the hose can be used in the well. The strictness of this standard is extremely rare in the field of industrial pipelines: it not only requires the hose to quickly self extinguish upon contact with an open flame, but also requires the material itself to have the ability to conduct static electricity and cut off the explosive chain from the source.

The flame retardant test adopts the alcohol spray lamp combustion method, with a flame height of 150mm ± 10mm and a temperature not lower than 900 ℃. The sample is vertically fixed, and after continuous fire supply for 12 seconds, the spray gun must be removed. All four indicators must be met simultaneously: ignition time ≤ 5 seconds (some strict scenarios require ≤ 3 seconds), smoldering time ≤ 5 seconds, damage length ≤ 250mm, and if there are molten droplets during the combustion process, the degreased cotton below 300mm must not be ignited.

The anti-static test also has two lines of defense: surface resistance ≤ 1 × 10 ΩΩ, volume resistance ≤ 1 × 10 Ω· cm, and conductivity resistance between the joint and the steel wire layer ≤ 1 Ω.

In addition to the MT/T 98 inspection standard, flame-retardant and anti-static hydraulic oil pipes must also hold the MA mark (Mining Product Safety Mark Certificate). When purchasing, suppliers must provide third-party testing reports, factory certificates of conformity, and safety mark certificates. Products that have obtained dual certification from MT/T 98 and MA have undergone rigorous verification of their flame retardant and anti-static properties through type testing.

2、 Structural password: Triple protection system with flame retardant and anti-static properties
The excellent safety of flame-retardant and anti-static hydraulic oil pipes stems from systematic material innovation from the inside out. Taking mining high-pressure hoses as an example, their typical structure forms a three in one protective system of "electrostatic conductivity pressure resistance flame retardancy" from the inside out.

The inner rubber layer comes into direct contact with emulsion or hydraulic oil, using nitrile rubber (NBR) or hydrogenated nitrile rubber (HNBR) as the substrate, which can withstand long-term erosion from petroleum based hydraulic oil and water-based emulsion. More importantly, by incorporating conductive carbon black into the formula, the inner layer forms a conductive pathway, which, together with the reinforcing layer steel wire, forms an electrostatic discharge network - the static charges generated by friction are introduced into the ground through the joint along this pathway, avoiding local accumulation and spark discharge.

The reinforcement layer adopts a 2 to 6-layer high carbon steel wire spiral winding structure, which not only provides high pressure bearing capacity (blasting pressure reaches more than 4 times the working pressure), but also serves as a key channel for static electricity export. The conductivity design between the joint and the steel wire layer (resistance ≤ 1 Ω) ensures that static electricity is quickly introduced into the ground.

The outer rubber layer adopts a blend formula of chloroprene rubber (CR) and flame retardant, with an oxygen index (OI) exceeding 28%. In the alcohol spray lamp combustion test, the self extinguishing time after removing the fire source usually does not exceed 30 seconds, and there is no molten droplet igniting the degreased cotton below. In terms of anti-static properties, the surface resistance value is significantly lower than the standard upper limit by adding conductive fillers.

3、 Underground application and compliance management: from selection to full cycle safety
Fire retardant and anti-static hydraulic tubing is widely used in hydraulic support system, shearer cutting department and roadheader spray dust suppression system in coal mines. The hydraulic support system is the scenario with the highest usage of hoses, with a working pressure of 35-42MPa. The main supply pipeline requires hoses to have both high flow conveying capacity and flame retardant and anti-static properties.

When selecting, three key aspects must be checked: firstly, confirming that the product holds a valid MA mark (Mining Product Safety Mark Certificate) - this is a rigid certificate for on-site inspection by the coal mine safety supervision department; Secondly, suppliers are required to provide flame retardant and anti-static inspection reports issued by third-party testing agencies; Thirdly, verify whether all the flame retardant and anti-static indicators specified in MT/T 98-2006 standard have been met.

In coal mines, hose failures may cause chain risks. In daily maintenance, it is important to focus on checking for any damage to the outer adhesive layer that may expose the steel wire, any leakage at the joint, and any abnormal increase in resistance on the surface of the hose caused by long-term friction. The MT/T 98 standard also has clear requirements for the wear resistance test of the outer coating. When the outer adhesive layer wears out to expose the reinforcement layer, the hose will fail and should be replaced in a timely manner.

In summary, the flame retardant and anti-static hydraulic oil pipe, with its compliance guarantee of MT/T 98 and MA dual certification, three-dimensional protection of static conductive inner rubber and flame retardant outer rubber, and full scene adaptation of hydraulic systems in coal mines, perfectly meets the systematic needs of "fire and explosion prevention, safety and reliability" in coal mines. From the 12 second test of 900 ℃ alcohol spray lamp to the strict control of 1 × 10 ⁹ Ω surface resistance, from the static conductivity design of NBR inner adhesive to the V-0 level flame retardant of CR outer adhesive, every material selection and standard indicator points to the same goal: to provide a safe guarantee for hydraulic systems in the deep mine where gas and coal dust interweave, without accumulating static electricity or spreading combustion.
